This Week's New Movies

be sure to update your profile if you want to see any of these!

Leatherheads Leatherheads
This was actually filmed in North and South Carolina very close to where I live...It was big news that Clooney and Zellweger where in town. Hard-nosed sports reporter Lexie Littleton (Oscar winner Renée Zellweger) finds herself at the center of an acute 1920s love triangle when an aging football hero (Oscar winner George Clooney) and a rising college star (John Krasinski of "The Office") go head to head to compete for her affections. Clooney also writes and directs this romantic comedy with vintage flair, set at the dawn of professional football history.

Nim's Island
When the young island-dwelling Nim (Abigail Breslin) loses contact with her scientist father (Gerard Butler) who's lost at sea, she reaches out to her favorite author (Jodie Foster) for help. Problem is, the writer -- of adventure stories no less -- is a recluse who hasn't left her house in years. Can the agoraphobic author summon the same courage she's instilled in the hero of her novels in time to rescue her biggest fan?
Nim's Island

The Ruins The Ruins
An idyllic vacation in Cancun takes a dangerous turn for four young Americans when they're persuaded by a mysterious tourist to join an archaeological dig and subsequently find themselves lost within the cursed ruins of a forgotten city. Adapted by Scott B. Smith from his own novel, this bone-chilling thriller from director Carter Smith stars Jonathan Tucker, Laura Ramsey, Jena Malone and Shawn Ashmore.

Shine a Light
Rolling Stones documentary that focuses on the two concerts from the group's current "A Bigger Bang" tour as well as historical and contemporary behind-the-scenes footage and interviews. A recent concert in Austin, Texas, was also filmed. Featuring Martin Scorsese, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.
