This Week's New Movies

be sure to update your profile if you want to see any of these!

Punisher: War Zone Punisher: War Zone
Hmmmmm. I remember seeing the Punisher that was released in 2004 and thinking "wow how can you make a film worse then a Dolph Lundgren version?" Lets hope that they do a better job with this installment. Frank Castle (Ray Stevenson), a one-man force of vengeance known as "the Punisher," battles mob boss Billy Russoti (Dominic West). Left disfigured by the encounter, Russoti reemerges as Jigsaw, a psychotic villain with a small army at his command. Too bad for the baddie that the Punisher is preparing to annihilate Jigsaw and his reign of terror, armed with a cache of high-tech new weaponry by the handy Microchip (Wayne Knight).

Cadillac Records
The sounds of 1950s Chicago spring to life in this musical drama based on the true story of Leonard Chess (Adrien Brody), a bar owner turned record mogul who signs a lineup of future legends to his fledgling label, Chess Records. He eventually crosses paths with the likes of Muddy Waters (Jeffrey Wright), Chuck Berry (Mos Def) and Etta James (Beyoncé Knowles), changing the face of popular music forever.

Frost/Nixon Frost/Nixon
Adaptation of the hit Peter Morgan play based on a series of televised interviews that David Frost secured with former President Nixon in 1977. The final interview ended with Nixon tacitly admitting his guilt regarding his role in the Watergate scandal. Frank Langella and Michael Sheen are reprising their Broadway roles as Nixon and Frost, respectively.
