This Week's New Movies

be sure to update your profile if you want to see any of these!

Burn After Reading Burn After Reading
John Malkovich stars in this dark comedy from Oscar winners Joel and Ethan Coen as Osbourne Cox, an ousted CIA official who loses his recently penned memoir into the hands of a pair of moronic gym employees. George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Tilda Swinton round out the cast of this irreverent farce, whose title alludes to former CIA director Stansfield Turner's book Burn Before Reading: Presidents, CIA Directors, and Secret Intelligence.

Righteous Kill
Since Heat is one of my all time favorite movies I will be sure to check out another on screen performance featuring Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro in the same film....this time hopefully for a lot more scenes then Heat. Academy Award winners Robert De Niro and Al Pacino star in this taut thriller as a pair of New York City detectives tasked with investigating a rash of vigilante killings linked to a case years ago, suggesting they may have put an innocent man behind bars. John Leguizamo, Carla Gugino, Brian Dennehy, Donnie Wahlberg and rapper-turned-actor 50 Cent also star in this crime drama penned by Russel Gerwitz (Inside Man) and directed by Jon Avnet.

The Women The Women
"The Women" is a remake of the 1939 George Cukor classic. The updated version follows a group of female friends when the one they envied most discovers her husband's cheating on her. Featuring an all-star cast of Meg Ryan, Annette Bening, Eva Mendes, Debra Messing, Jada Pinkett Smith, Bette Midler, Candice Bergen and even Princess Leia herself...Carrie Fisher. Rated PG-13 for sex-related material, language, some drug use and brief smoking.

Tyler Perry's The Family That Preys
Tyler Perry (Diary of a Mad Black Woman) writes, directs and stars in this poignant dramedy centered on a pair of friends -- wealthy socialite Charlotte (Academy Award winner Kathy Bates) and working-class Alice (Alfre Woodard) -- whose families stand to be ripped apart by greed and scandal. The stellar cast also includes Sanaa Lathan, Cole Hauser and Rockmond Dunbar.
