This Week's New Movies

be sure to update your profile if you want to see any of these!

Horton Hears a Who Horton Hears a Who
Based on the popular Dr. Suess book. One day, Horton the elephant hears a cry from help coming from a speck of dust. Even though he can't see anyone on the speck, he decides to help it. As it turns out, the speck of dust is home to the Whos, who live in their city of Whoville. Horton agrees to help protect the Whos and their home, but this gives him nothing but torment from his neighbors, who refuse to believe that anything could survive on the speck. Still, Horton stands by the motto that, "After all, a person is a person, no matter how small."

Never Back Down
At his new high school, a rebellious teen (Faris) is lured into an underground fight club, where he finds a mentor in a mixed martial arts veteran (Hounsou). Rated PG-13 for mature thematic material involving intense sequences of fighting/violence, some sexuality, partying and language - all involving teens. Starring Sean Faris and Amber Heard.
Never Back Down

Doomsday Doomsday
In "Doomsday," a lethal virus spreads throughout a major country and kills hundreds of thousands. To contain the newly identified Reaper, the authorities brutally quarantine the country as it succumbs to fear and chaos. The literal walling-off works for three decades - until Reaper violently resurfaces in a major city. An elite group of specialists, including Eden Sinclair (Mitra), is urgently dispatched into the still-quarantined country to retrieve a cure by any means necessary. Shut off from the rest of the world, the unit must battle through a landscape that has become a waking nightmare.

In Short:

Funny Games Funny Games
Anna (Naomi Watts) and George (Tim Roth) are enjoying a vacation with their son when a pair of sadistic young men, Paul (Michael Pitt) and Peter (Brady Corbet), breaks into their cabin and holds the family hostage. The psychotic duo plays twisted games with their prisoners, forcing them to comply to stay alive. Director Michael Haneke remakes his chilling 1997 German-language film as an indictment of the media's fascination with violence.

The Grand The Grand
Desperate to save his dead grandpa's casino from a greedy developer, One Eyed Jack Faro (Woody Harrelson) enters the Grand Championship of Poker in Zak Penn's mockumentary. A sports cable channel follows One Eyed Jack as he outbluffs the bluffers and ups the ante. Penn's comedy co-stars Ray Romano, Werner Herzog, Cheryl Hines, David Cross, Dennis Farina, Jason Alexander, Michael McKean, Hank Azaria and other familiar faces.
