This Week's New Movies

be sure to update your profile if you want to see any of these!

Rambo Rambo
I have not been too excited lately looking at the films that have been coming out in the past month or so. Rambo is a film that I have been looking forward to for a long time, even before they announced that they were making it. Rambo is one of my favorite Icons in movie history and as cheesy as Stallone can be I have high hopes for this film. We already said goodbye to Rocky Balboa now its time to say Goodbye to John J. Rambo probably for good. Since you last saw John Rambo fighting Russians in Afghanistan, he is now retired in Bangkok and spends his time salvaging boats and tanks for scrap metal. He has no interest in fighting wars anymore. A group of Christian human rights missionaries wants to rent one of Rambo's boats so they can take it upstream to Burma. Burma is a war zone and the current military is killing and torturing farmers and peasants. The missionaries get captured and taken hostage by the evil Major Pa Tee Tint. Rambo now is forced into war to rescue these innocent Christians.

Meet the Spartans
Another spoof film centered around the hit film 300. Also included in the spoof is the likes of Britany Spears, Linsay Lohan, Rambo, James Bond, Simon Cowell, Paris Hilton,Paula Abdul, Dane Cook, Tom Cruise, Ellen DeGeneres, K-Fed, Brad Pitt , Angelina Jolie, President Bush, Rocky Balboa, Donald Trump, Tyra Banks, Ryan Seacrest and many more. Rated for crude and sexual content throughout, language and some comic violence.
Meet the Spartans

Untraceable Untraceable
This one actually looks good as well maybe the film industry is starting to launch the good films of 2008. The story of a technology-savvy serial killer who displays his graphic murders on his own website. The FBI Internet Crimes division must work quickly to track him down. Starring Diane Lane (Unfaithful) and Colin Hanks (yes, Tom Hanks son.) Rated R for grisly violence and torture, and some language.

4 Months, 3 Weeks, 2 Days (4 luni, 3 saptamani si 2 zile)
This films plot sort of reminds me of Vera Drake which was a great film involving the same type of topic. This film is a Drama about a woman who assists her friend to arrange an illegal abortion in 1980's Romania. The cinematography is very crude and choppy to give the audience a first hand look at the situation and setting that the film is suppose to take place. Filmed in Bucharest, Romania this picture features a mostly foreign cast.

In Short:

How She Move How She Move
Following her sister's death from drug addiction, a high school student is forced to leave her private school to return to her old, crime-filled neighborhood where she re-kindles an unlikely passion for the competitive world of step dancing.

The Air I Breathe The Air I Breathe
A businessman (Forest Whitaker) bets his life on a horse race, a gangster (Brendan Fraser) sees the future, a pop star (Sarah Michelle Gellar) falls prety to a crime boss (Andy Garcia) and a doctor (Kevin Bacon) must save the love of his life. Based on a Chinese proverb, these four overlapping stories dramatize the four emotional cornerstones of life: happiness, pleasure, sorrow and love.
