Jolie to replace Cruise in Spy Thriller

Angelina Jolie is to replace Tom Cruise in new espionage thriller after the movie studio decided to give the title character a sex change. Cruise was originally slated to play the lead in Edwin A Salt, as a CIA officer forced to go on the run when wrongly accused of being a Russian spy. Her next movie release is Changeling, directed by Clint Eastwood, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and is due out in October. Her performance as the grieving mother of a kidnapped boy has been tipped for an Oscar nomination.

Tropic Thunder Blasted for Insensitivity

"Tropic Thunder" is pushing the envelope too far for groups representing the mentally disabled. Dozens of people from organizations such as the Special Olympics and the American Association of People with Disabilities protested the movie-industry spoof across the street from the film's Los Angeles premiere at Mann's Bruin Theatre on Monday. The protesters held up signs with slogans such as "Call me by my name, not by my label" and chanted phrases like "Ban the movie, ban the word." The groups are outraged over scenes featuring the liberal usage of a disparaging term used to describe the mentally disabled. "If you want to pick on people, as the old playground saying goes, pick on people your own size," said Timothy Shriver, chairman of the Special Olympics, who is calling for a boycott of "Tropic Thunder" along with the other groups.

Jolie consults with Patrick over Catwoman role

Angelina Jolie has turned to adult movie star Tera Patrick for advice on taking the role of Catwoman in the next Batman movie. The Lara Croft stunner is said to be keen to sign up for the part if the "Catwoman" character is resurrected in a future Batman sequel by "Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan. Jolie, who gave birth to twins Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon last month, is said to be good friends with the busty brunette. Jolie has even been tipped for the role by Julie Newmar, who played the original feline villain in the 1960s Batman TV series. And the sexy star has been discussing her possible portrayal of the character with porn star pal Patrick, who is a huge fan of the role, according to New York gossip column PageSix.

Spears and Patrick to be in Tarantino's next film

Quentin Tarantino's love of twisted old movies fuels all of his projects. His next movie Inglorious Bastards is a remake of a 1977 war flick; and he's already working on the next next film.. Faster Pussycat, Kill! Kill! According to the Telegraph UK, Britney Spears has been cast as Varla. The girl in all black with her breasts on your monitor. If so Britney will have to do a lesbian sex scene and murder a couple of people - no gun, one knife. Porn star Tera Patrick is rumored to be in the movie as well.

Imaginarium All the People

Amongst the fallout of Heath Ledger's death was his incompleted role in Terry Gilliam's The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus. Gilliam, one of film's more unlucky large budget directors (see Lost in La Mancha), replaced Ledger with Jude Law, Johnny Depp, and Colin Farrell. Also, Ledger's will had not yet been updated to include his two-year-old daughter Matilda. Upon hearing of this, Law, Depp, and Farrell gave their paychecks from the film to Matilda.
