Clock Tower Not Saved
A huge fire at Universal's backlot sent iconic locations up in smoke including the Courthouse Square Set (used most famously on Back to the Future and To Kill a Mockingbird) and part of the New York Street set, redressed and used in films and TV shows such as House, Ally McBeal, Dirty Harry, The Sting, Blues Brothers, etc. The sets are scheduled to be rebuilt. An Inconvenient Truth Goes... to the Opera?
That's right ladies and gentlmen. Where most of us found a nice movie to put on while we went to bed, apparently others found something that they decided would be great in the form of, that's right, opera.
Italian composer Giorgio Battistelli was commissioned with turning former President Al Gore's PowerPoint presentation An Inconvenient Truth into an opera, set to debut in 2011 in Milan at the La Scala Opera House. contributed by Rob Schillinger

Bond Curse Lives On!
The Bond Curse has claimed yet another victim. Quantum of Solace star Daniel Craig sliced off the top of his finger during an action sequence. This accident comes just one week after Craig's face was sliced open while filming another scene – requiring eight stitches. So far, the film's production has been marred by accidents. A crash left one crewmember critically injured. At one point, production was halted when a stunt driver suffered serious head injuries after crashing a vehicle into a wall in northern Italy. And before that, an Aston Martin had to be fished out of a lake after skidding off a narrow road in the rain.
You know what Mr. Craig? That's what you get for that damn blue Speedo. contributed by Rob Schillinger

Musical Star Cyd Charisse Dies at 86

Charisse was trained as a classic ballerina and was credited with bringing an air of sophistication to '50's musicals. "After years when Hollywood's leading dancers were cute and fluffy, Cyd took dance to a more sensual realm in the 1950s," said dancing/film historian Larry Billman. (contributed by Thom Williams)

She's "Wanted" for another role
Angelina Jolie is considering being a part of Sin City 2, because she is intrigued with what director Frank Miller can come up with next. Jolie is very much taken by the 2004 comic book adaptation, and Miller is also very keen to have the actress on board for the flick. The director already has a character lined up for her and is eager for her to peruse the script, and the Wanted star is also interested in Miller's offer, because she thinks the moviemaker is a "genius".
