'Arrested Development': The Movie?

From Jessica, The Film Junkie: Jason Bateman has confirmed that the cast and creators of cult TV comedy 'Arrested Development' are working on a movie version of the show. Though critically acclaimed, it's three seasons were cut short when FOX pulled the plug in 2006. During its 3 season run, the show won 6 Emmys and a Golden Globe. There was some discussion about the show moving to a cable network, most likely Showtime, after its cancellation, but nothing came of it when the station could not match the budget of FOX. Creator Mitchell Hurwitz simply did not want to make a different show as he didn't think it would satisfy anyone. A film version is great news for the millions of devoted fans and DVD owners.

Another Stupid Celebrity Arrested For Shoplifting!

From Tim : What is it with rich and powerful celebrities feeling as if they need to steal $16 dollars worth of goods? Ling Bai was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport for stealing 2 magazines and a pack of batteries from a gift shop. I'm having a hard time writing this because I'm laughing so hard at the level of stupidity. You know Bai from her work in The Crow and Wild Wild West. She was placed under citizens arrest by an employee of the store and Bai reportedly was co-operative but crying for her actions.

Tough Guy to do Rom Com?

As hard as it is to believe, Jason Statham stated that he wants to do a romantic comedy just for kicks. I certainly don't know when he will have the time as he has three more tough guy roles in the works: the Paul W.S. Anderson film, Death Race; Crank 2: and The Brazilian Job. Statham, speaking at the world premiere of The Bank Job at the Odeon in London's Leicester Square, said: "We are just waiting for a decent script. I'm not going to do a romantic comedy just for the sake of it."
