Expecto Patronum!
OK, I can't be the only 27-year-old here who loves all things Harry Potter. I hope not, anyway. Here are some pictures from the upcoming fourth installment in the film series, HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE. Unfortunately, no shots of Ralph Fiennes as Lord Voldemort, but you do get a great look at Miranda Richardson as nasty reporter Rita Skeeter. (Side note: two guys from Radiohead and another from Pulp will be playing a band in this one.)

The Bond Rumor Mill is Grinding
As you may have read, rumors abound over who will play James Bond in the next installment of the long-running franchise. Ian Fleming's suave, martini-drinking secret agent may still be played by Pierce Brosnan, while Clive Owen and Daniel Craig are also rumored to be this close to signing. Of course, no one is confirming anything.

We also love drama in the suburbs
The "Desperate Housewives" mania is spreading. Kate Winslet is in talks to star in LITTLE CHILDREN, a satire of suburban parenthood based on Tom Perrotta's book of the same name. Director is Todd Field from IN THE BEDROOM. According to the book description at Amazon, the adult characters, all defined by their relationship to children, seem normal and upstanding, but have dirty sexual secrets lurking at home.

We love biopics
KINSEY director Bill Condon is set to direct Beyonce in DREAMGIRLS, a film adaptation of a Broadway show that is based on Diana Ross and the Supremes. Kind of. Before Diana Ross spent that night in jail.

Trailers!
A few years ago I got in this bad habit of watching movie trailers online while I was at work. Now you can share my bad habit too!
War of the Worlds Stars Tom Cruise, Tim Robbins, and Dakota "that serious, blonde child actress" Fanning in Steven Spielberg's movie about aliens and why we just haven't been paranoid enough recently.
The Island Michael Bay, he who brought us such masterpieces as ARMAGEDDON and PEARL HARBOR, with a summer blockbuster that looks kinda like THE MATRIX but without the black clothes. Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson star, along with Djimoun Hounsou, Sean Bean (wild guess: he plays the bad guy), Steve Buscemi, and Michael Clarke Duncan.
Wedding Crashers Owen Wilson + Vince Vaughn + Christopher Walken = I'm there.

Robbie Heart Fans Unite!
Fans of the Adam Sandler/Drew Barrymore comedy THE WEDDING SINGER have a reason to visit New York City next April: the 1998 hit will premiere on Broadway as a stage musical. (This movie has a special spot in my family, as my brother and his wife danced to "I Want to Grow Old With You" at their wedding, the song Robbie sings to Julia on the plane.)

May the schwartz be with you
In today's Entertainment News column at TV Guide, there's a small notice saying A&E has finalized plans to produce a two-hour documentary examining the relationship between George Lucas and Steven Spielberg. Did you read "Easy Riders, Raging Bulls"? Well, it's a little juicy.

Girls Just Want To Have Fun: The Sequel
That's on my list of fantasy projects. Anyway, Sarah Jessica Parker is said to be in talks to star as a publicist wrongly imprisoned for murder in SLAMMER, a dark comedy. While in prison, Parker's character puts together a musical starring the inmates.

More Comedy Gold!
Here is my second golden nugget from TV Guide: Jack Black is making a movie where he plays a Mexican priest who moonlights as a wrestler. It's being written by Mike White, who created the awesomeness that was SCHOOL OF ROCK, and Jared Hess, who created another piece of awesomeness called NAPOLEON DYNAMITE.

Comedy Gold!
In my daily perusal of news at TV Guide, I found two happy nuggets of comedy gold. Here's the first one: Will Arnett, who you may know as GOB on "Arrested Development," the funniest show on TV, is making a movie with some "Arrested" writer/directors about a guy at his 20th high school reunion who tells his old crush that he's a huge success in New York. Trouble is, he's lying, and when she comes to visit he has to maintain the elaborate illusion.

The Man of Steel Is Back
A story on Entertainment Weekly's website includes this picture of the new Superman, actor Brandon Routh, on the Australian set of the upcoming SUPERMAN RETURNS. Directed by Brian Singer, who also did the X-MEN flicks, the film stars Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane and Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor. Bosworth and Spacey were also in BEYOND THE SEA together. Spacey's toupee from that film, however, is unlikely to appear in SUPERMAN RETURNS.
