Outhouse

Favorite Movie Quote: "Do not eat the big white mint."

So, uh, I can't take my eyes off this piece of sh*t every time that I see it on TV, so I must acknowledge its all balls no brain status as a guilty pleasure movie.

Roadhouse pits the best cooler (that's bouncer insider talk for bouncer) in the business, James Dalton (Swayze), against some rich dude, Brad Wesley (Ben Gazzara), hellbent on dominating a town somewhere between yonder and bumblef*ck. Dalton is a renaissance bouncer, complete with the Great 80's Equalizer (martial arts) and a degree in philosophy. Of course, the local totally sexy female doctor (who just happened to once warm Wesley's bed), Elizabeth (Kelly Lynch) falls for the Dalton the minute she stitches him up.

Dalton's gotta shape up the "Double Douche" by teaching the proper way to kick people's asses and throw them out on the street. For some reason Wesley and his boys want to keep the place a slaughterhouse and a series of ridiculously epic fights and explosions ensue as the two megaliths fight (much like William Wallace and King Edward in Braveheart) to determine the fate of a bunch of rednecks.

One of the actual good things about Roadhouse is Sam Elliott's appearance as Wade Garrett, Dalton's Obi-wan Kenobi, only with an attitude of "if these people won't help themselves then f*ck 'em". Elliott's natural charisma seeps out no matter what he does or how long he's on screen, and it's no exception here. There's actually an insightful discussion about when you have the right to kill a person.

However any seriousness of that kind goes out the window when, during an epic bout of fisticuffs with Wesley's number one boy Jimmy (Marshall Teague), lines like, "I used to f*ck guys like you in prison!" get tossed around.

You used to f*ck guys in prison?
