Movie Review by Tim
November 12th, 2007

I usually get kissed before I get f*cked.

As a film lover I know without question that 80's and early 90's movies are my speciality. The reason being that before I could drive and understood how wonderful girls were, all I had was my movies. I still to this day run across 80's action films that I haven't seen but there are not many out there.

I have talked about this film before to people and its been mentioned in front of me but its just one of those films that I never got around to seeing. What's even weirder is that my parents took my brother and I to see a movie getting filmed in Charlotte when I was very young and to this day I thought that the movie was Black Rain. Now that I have seen it I think that I am wrong but its just strange that all of these years I thought it was this one.

Its an average action flick with two people that I don't like seeing in action movies being Michael Douglas and Andy Garcia. I like Michael Douglas as the dirty lawyer or politician role but besides Jewel of the Nile he isn't much on making me think he can save the day. Andy Garcia is just not a favorite of mine for any role.

After watching the whole film it made me want to compare it to Rising Sun even thought besides Asian's and cops there really is no other similarity. I liked Rising Sun a whole lot better I know that.

The most memorable scene is when Andy Garcia gets beheaded by a katana blade, yeah you always hope to see some sort of martial arts reference when dealing with Asian actors and countries.

I had not seen Kate Capshaw in many other films besides Indiana Jones and it was nice to see a VERY EARLY appearance from Stephen Root which I can't take seriously as a hard cop because he is burnt into my mind as Gordon from Dodgeball.........L FOR LOVE !!!!!!!!!!

Anyway's I can now see why I never sat and watched this before because no one would have been able to say anything that was true about this film that would entice me to go out and rent or buy it....it is very average with little memorable scenes.
