Wyld Stallyns!

Alright, so if you look back and really watch this movie with a critical eye, it does kinda suck. The writing is juvenile, the acting is mediocre and the soundtrack is horribly dated.

But let's be honest. The storyline is actually fairly clever considering it's a movie about two slacker dudes (who might or might not have been stoner dudes but minus the drug references) who are about to fail their history class. While studying one night, they decide to go get some munchies from the local Circle K, only to have a telephone booth nearly fall on their heads.

As it turns out, the phone booth is from the future where the guys are now all important. They are allowed to take the booth and go back in time to study for their test but come up with the idea to bring the figures from their history text books back with them for their presentation.

Sure, it plays out like a lame teenage comedy, but it's a fun and harmless teenage comedy. No one gets hurt, no one gets insulted. There are no deaths and no pregnancies and nothing else ugly that's associated with growing up. It's fantasy and it's the very best kind: a fun one.

This is another one of my childhood faves...me and my freinds used to rattle of the one liners from this movie all the time.

A classic. They should get Keanu back and do a third.
