if your looking for the best first date movie then this is the one, for anyone whos ever been though the nightmarish hair pulling insaneness of that first date this movie captures it in every detail, its very funny because it hits so close to real life dating, anyone searching for that perfect date flick should watch this one, and tell your self if you did,nt try some of things that short and o,toole did on that all important first date....[be honest now].

Annette O'Toole has done really great work in a lot of films, but rarely gets the notice she deserves.
The best gag in this movie is right before they're about to do it, and Martin Short grabs the condom...hesitates...and asks O'Toole, "Do you want to put it on?" To which she replies, "Nah, you wear it."
