If I lose this review one more time....
Favorite Movie Quote: "Roland Kincaid: Great, now my dick's killin' me."
*I've written this review twice already and lost it so I'm a little peeved already...please excuse me*
I'm going to let it be known that I am afraid of Freddy Kruger! What isn't scary about a guy that knows what you're afraid of and kills you in your dreams? I mean, you can't stay awake forever...
This, the third installment, of Freddy's terror is unleashed on a bunch of sleep deprived kids in a mental institute. (Why doesn't anybody believe them? It cannot be coincidence if it's happening to that many kids!) As kids die off and a familiar face comes to town the puzzle is pieced together that these kids are connected by Elm Street (duh) and they are in real danger. You have to fight a "burn victim" with knives for fingers in your dreams...but who is brave enough to let themselves fall asleep and face this guy?
This movie doesn't stand up to today's movies, because...well...it wasn't made yesterday. It screams 80's and sort gives you a laugh that you could've been so scared of this as a kid, but Freddy's still just as scary to me. Some things I liked about this flick: your ability to be whatever you wish in your dreams, John Saxon, and we get to stand up to Freddy and be bad asses.
Overall, it's probably better if you would've watched this in the late 80's when it came out, but if you haven't seen it I'd definitely still recommend it. It's still a good movie...kinda cheesy and very out-dated, but you gotta love Freddy Kruger...or be really scared of him, like me.
