Movie Review by Zara
November 10th, 2007

I was really into this movie when I was younger because I was a Keanu Reeves fan. The first movie that I think he was in where he had lines, it's mostly memorable for him talking about losing his teeth while playing hockey.

I'm a fan of the sport, but I have to say that the movie is a dud when it comes to portraying that side of things. This is focused more on the pretty boy aspect, with all the angst and posturing that they do in flicks like this. I won't say that it's this movie alone because they've been pulling the same stunt with pretty boys for decades.

Pretty boy has dilemma. Pretty boy falls in love with girl who can't be his because her brother/father/boyfriend is standing in the way. Boy acts as if this is the end of his world. Boy engages in secret affair with girl. Boy ends up becoming close to the brother/father/boyfriend and starts to think that he's doing the wrong thing and rejects the girl in some strange, homo-erotic tribute to the male figure who was previously thwarting him. Boy realizes that he can't live without girl and does something stupid/heroic to win her back. Cut to shot of them kissing. Cut to shot of brother/father/boyfriend giving him a winning look or high five, acknowledging acceptance/defeat. Fade to black.

Honestly, if this is your type of thing, I still don't think you would like this movie because Cynthia Gibb is just too annoying. But like I said, it DOES have a young Keanu in it.
