What was I thinking?
When I was younger, I thought this movie was cool. That probably makes me look like the biggest dork on the planet, but cut me a little slack. I was in the sixth grade when I first watched it and I had a crush on Charlie Sheen.
Watching the movie again as an adult is a different experience. Sure, the movie is bad. It's also laughably bad. There's something about a flick when you have characters named "Skank" and "Gutterboy" and Randy Quaid as the sheriff wandering around spouting lines like, "I don't need a warrant when I've got this here badge," and "A roadblock ain't going to stop what can't be stopped."
It's also fun to point out that the bad gut in this movie, Packard, is played by Nick Cassavetes. Why does that name sound familiar to you? Because he's the guy who went on to direct movies like UNHOOK THE STARS, JOHN Q, ALPHA DOG....
Oh, and THE NOTEBOOK.
That's right. The guy who terrorizes a chick in this movie went on to direct one of the most popular chick flicks ever.
And that's got to be good for a least a few hundred laughs.

| People once believed that when someone dies, a car carries their soul to the land of the dead. But sometimes, something so bad happens that a terrible sadness is carried with it and the soul can't rest. Then sometimes, just sometimes, the car can bring that soul back to put the wrong things right. |
