Movie Review by Bennie
October 27th, 2009

Just in time for Halloween, I have a review for the 1986 hard rock horror flick Trick or Treat. I love Halloween themed horror movies. I can name several that I like, including several in the Halloween series, Night of the Demons, and the just released Trick 'R Treat. I can now add Trick or Treat to that list.

Trick or Treat is about a heavy metal star by the name of Sammi Curr who is killed during a hotel fire. However, he is resurrected whenever someone plays his just released record backwards. The first person to become aware of this is superfan Eddie, played by Marc Price of Family Ties. Eddie is having trouble at school with bullies. All of that might change thanks to the undead Sammi.

Trick or Treat starts off kind of underwhelming, but it gets cooler and funnier as it goes along. There are some really creative and original scenes in the movie. Actually, the movie as a whole is creative. I don't think there's been another movie with a plot quite like this. Also, there are cameos by Ozzy Osbourne and Gene Simmons. If you haven't figured it out yet, I think this cult classic is a treat.
