Blast from the past

I'll be honest. I'd completely forgotten about this movie until I was browsing through the database, doing some entries and stumbled upon it. Then suddenly the memories came flooding back.

It's a lousy movie, one where the movie industry was trying to capitalize on the popularity of skateboarding and figured that the sport alone wouldn't be interesting enough to base a whole movie around. So they threw in this weird story with gang members and girls and all that other nonsense from the mid-'80's.

What I DO like about this movie is that it features some of the premiere skate boarders at the time. Tony Alva, one of the members of the Z Boys is featured as well as a young Tony Hawk. Plus there's Flea as.... Flea.

As a young skater chick back in the late 80's and early '90's, my friends and I all owned these movies because they were the only ones that we could find about the sport. How we managed to sit through them is past me.
