Totally 80's

John Hughes, what can I say by the time he made "Ferris" he was already the king of teen flicks having notches like Sixteen Candles and Weird Science under his belt. With ferris he felt like he needed to pay homage to all those cool kids in high school, who most of us never got to be.You know the ones, the "it" crowd, that seemed to have everything just go their way.Well this story isn't much different, not a lot of substance but just the right delivery. We start with the hero of our story Ferris Bueller(Broderick) laying in bed stricken with what appears to be a fever. He manages to persuade his parents into letting him stay home sick, much to the dismay of his older sister(Grey) who knows he's up to something. As the story unfolds we find Ferris trying to convince his lifetime best pal Cameron(Ruck) to come out on a joyride, even though he really is sick. After some convincing Cameron finally gives in to Ferris's request, the two of the hatch a scheme to free Ferris's girlfriend Sloan(Sara) from study hall. They slip one past hot headed principal Ed Rooney(Jones) and break her out in Camerons' Dads' classic Ferrari. They take a ride to the city of all places, which city you ask???Chicago a.k.a.Chi-Town.They take in a day of sight seeing all across the city covering all the bases. The trio end up at a high end restaurant where Ferris manages to fanagle a table for them without a reservation. They come home after a long day only to realize that someone has put hundreds of miles on the classic muscle car,his fathers' baby. After attempting to reverse the damage at home,Cameron has a breakdown and a little something happens to his fathers' precious. It all wraps up with Ferris in a foot race with his sister to get home first before his whole day gets botched. An angry principal half torn apart by the family dog and so on.With a stellar cast this one's a classic!!!
