Vacationing Again!!

After the success of the first film, the producers of National Lampoon's Vacation could do but one thing.... MAKE ANOTHER!!!

The film has the Griswald family (for some reason the name changed from Griswold to Griswald for this movie): Clark (Chevy Chase), his wife Ellen (Beverly D'Angelo and their kids Rusty (Jason Lively) and Audrey (Dana Hill) winning a trip to Europe on a gameshow Pig in A Poke, and as one expects, Clark does all he can to inadvertantly destroy every single cultural icon that the European community had to offer.

As the first had been so successful, it was only natural the budget, and there fore the spectacle of the second had to be much much more. This film has not just the amazing sites of Europe, but some grand European comedy talent as well: Mel Smith (of Alas Smith and Jones) and Eric Idle (of Monty Python fame) not to mention other actors of note, such as Robbie Coltraine (the Harry Potter series) and John Astin (Gomez Addams, of course).

I enjoyed this film as much as the first, except for a few things: Audrey is given basically nothing to do, but whine about putting on weight and missing her boyfriend and I have to say I missed Anthony Michael Hall as well, but he was busy making Weird Science (another John Hughes flick) at this time, and Jason Lively really wasn't much of a replacement.

Luckily the consistantly HOT Beverly D'Angelo was their to balance the lacklustre kids off.

The thing about this film is, like the first. you expect Clark to screw up at every turn, and the set-ups are all paid of suitably. Fun, but not as much as the first!

I hated the kids in this outing. The first ones were cool because the daughter pulled off being a great slut instead of a fat whiner. (Although it's funny to see that her boyfriend is William Zabka - the bully from THE KARATE KID) And the boy is just.... ew.

I was an even bigger fan of the two that they picked to play the kids in the Vegas Vacation flick. Ethan Embry has always been one of my favorite dumb-expression actors.
