Groundbreaking film of 1984
This review might contain a few spoilers. Readers have been warned.
Although the second Terminator film blows this one out of the water, this one is also great. It is a groundbreaking film that uses the tech-noir genre to show how technology and sciene-fiction make this film what it is. The Terminator (in this film) is one of the greatest villain's in film history. In the 2nd film he comes back as a hero. James Cameron establishes himself as a major director here. He later goes on to direct Aliens, The Abyss, this film's sequel and the blockbuster hit Titanic. Arnold Schwarzenegger's only memorable (and somewhat decent) role is the Terminator. I recommend this film to anyone who loves action / sci-fi films. It's one of the most popular series of the century and should not be missed.
