Night of the Comet is a semi-spoof of zombie and sci-fi movies. Everything about it is totally 80's, from the music to the dialogue. It's not a great movie, but the good outweighs the bad.
'Comet' has nightmarish dream sequences, cool zombies, and some decent action including a car explosion. There's also some familar faces, if you're a fan of b-movies. There's Kelli Maroney (Chopping Mall), Mary Woronov (The Halfway House, Prison-A-Go-Go, Death Race 2000), and Geoffrey Lewis (The Devil's Rejects). Also, Catherine Mary Stewart really kicks ass the valley girl who is one tough babe.
There's two things that this movie is sorely missing, though: gore and nudity. However, at least we get to see the very cute Kelli Maroney in her underwear, and Woronov was pretty foxy back in the day. There also could have been more zombies, as well as more humor.
Still, if it's a b-movie that you want from a time when they were released in droves, you could do worse.
