If There's Something Strange...

In the late seventies and early eighties, there what was to become a mini 'golden age' of comedy. The Blues Brothers, Stripes, Animal House, 16 Candles, Weird Science all came out around this time, but the king of them all surely had to be the almighty Ghostbusters.

For those who don't know the story of Ghostbusters (who ARE you people???), this film tells the tale of three research scientists: Peter Venkman (Bill Burray), Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis) and Ray Stantz (Dan Ackroyd) who are kicked out of their university premises and have their research grants stopped, due to their poor results and dodgey methods, just as they final see their first ACTUAL ghost.

The three decide to start their own business, using some of their wacky inventions for the capture and removal of ghosts...like a paranormal pest control service, when they meet the lovely Dana Barrett (Sigourney Weaver), who appears to have some kind of manifestation in her refridgerator, a manifestation that may have plans for her....and the entire world....

This film really is the Bill Murray show, and he his hilarious all the way through. Directed by Stripes and Kindergarten Cop's Ivan Reitman from a script written by

I am terribly sorry folks, my work computer timed out, so I didn't get to finish this review properly. I was going to mention the script was by Ramis and Ackroyd, and that Ghostbusters should be on everyones "must watch' and ' Much loved' films lists!!

I actually think that Weaver looked the hottest she ever has in her career in this film. People tend to forget about her being in it because it was all about the guys. (That and the blonde girl at the beginning who is getting tested by Murray is Jennifer Runyon, the cool girlfriend that Charles had on the TV show Charles in Charge. Yes, I really notice all this crap. :)

"who ARE you people???" HAha..that totally made me laugh out loud. I actually remember asking my younger brother what was wrong with him once because he knew nothing of Ghostbusters....then I remembered he was only ten years old.

The situation was rectified. Great movie, great review.
