You want a Elsinore Select, eh?
Oh Canada. How gracious of a provider to our beverage industry during prohibition. In the 80's, my Grandmother called, youse guyse, "The Columbia Of the 20's". Oh Canada, with your clear blue skies and frozen flanges. I often considered that if things went sour with my country, I might have a place to lay my head.
Let me, first of all, explain. This is a special movie to me because I watched it, reluctantly having to wait in a maternity ward the day of my first child's birth. but this is a movie review, and I'll try to keep it cohesive. Although, I doubt it will stay that way. Thanks Molson!
Rick (Honey, I Shrunk The Kids) Moranis, and Dave (Grace Under Fire) Thomas play Bob and Doug. Two Beer loving, Hockey fanatic, heavy coat wearing Kanucks with a local TV show about movies, or something, maybe.
They then get a job at a beer factory run by Max Von Sydow, who I remember from something else that used to play on CBC Winnipeg, when I lived in the sticks. Anyway, Bob and the recently deceased Brewery owners daughter, Lynne (Earth: Final Conflict) Griffin have an interest, and, well Doug gets Beer. We're not so sure about that Doug. Like, he hasn't had a girl since the Reagan (Don Cherry for you kanucks) administration. What's with that, Eh?
Heyyy, take off hoser.
So then, in typical fashion, good guys win. The evil Baron von Brewmeister Smith and his evil minions were mightily slain by the meek little drunks from, what was it, Markham? Richmond Hill? Thronhill? Yeah Thornhill, I think that's it!
There's also some great old school camera in car scenery in the beginning. They did copy the Blues Brothers on that, but us Yankees can forgive and forget. Besides, they were both made by Lorne (Gimme Back My Sheeeoowww) Michaels.
