Movie Review by Chris
December 17th, 2007

Classic

Since films began to get big, plenty of mafia films have been released, dealing with drugs, violence and money. There have been many good ones, The Godfather, Goodfellas plus the original 30's Scarface. Scarface, directed by Brian De Palma, is a classic film. Combining over violence, drugs and the biggest deal with money. Not only does the film revolve around this world, but it shows how money and drugs can change a man quickly. A great script and even better acting carefully revolve around this film.

Al Pacino is not my favorite actor, mainly because I just dont like him for some reason. Seriously, Al Pacino is amazing in here. Tony Montana would not be Tony Montana without the acting skill of Al Pacino. He just nailed the role, getting the moves and attitude of the real Tony Montana. Michelle Pheiffer does a really great job in this also.

A lot of critics state the film as being over violent. Yes, it is a violent movie, just not visually. There is a lot of violence with the gunshots and a few bloody moments, but its not over the top. There is a major drug content and everything, plus some sex.

Bottom Line: An amazing movie.
