SLASHER-TRASH MEETS HORROR-SLEAZE

Like, will you get a load of this absolutely laughable tagline for PIECES? - "You don't have to go to Texas for a chainsaw massacre." - Isn't that just too-too much? - Or - How about this one? - "PIECES - It's exactly what you think it is."

With utterly ridiculous, but yet very persuasive, taglines such as these 2 absurd gems, how the hell could PIECES not succeed in generating some honest-to-goodness interest into the hungry hearts of all of the ravenous, Z-Grade Horror Movie Fans out there?

In PIECES the viewer is initially given a very brief glimpse at a pivotal incident in our maniac's childhood.

The year is 1942 - Dean is a young boy of about 6 playing alone in his room, piecing together a jigsaw puzzle of a nude woman. (Simply shocking!) Suddenly Dean's mother comes crashing into his room, unannounced. She sees the horribly vile thing that Dean is doing, chastises the frickin' hell out of the kid for it and this, of course, leaves Dean a freaked-out freak for the rest of his freaking life.

Now - Flash forward 40 years to 1982 - (And, Yep. Guess what?) - Dean, as an adult, has become a full-fledged, chainsaw-wielding, psychopathic killer now on a murderous rampage at a college campus in Boston. (Well, what did you expect? Dean as a Boy Scout, or something?)

As you can well imagine - Dean (in his adult life) has become utterly tormented by his shattering childhood memories. It seems that his mission in life is to now create his very own jigsaw puzzle by using (get this) real human body-parts.

Ho-Hum.

Sure enough - As the bodybags at Police Headquarters begin to pile sky-high, Police Lieutenant Bracken does his best to piece together the clues of his very own jigsaw puzzle in hopes of uncovering the identity of the maniac before it's too late. (Eh? Too late, for what?)
