Movie Review by Zara
April 8th, 2007

*shakes head*

You know what? I don't really like this movie. It was a big sensation when it was first released, and I remember being a kid at that time and watching the movie. My memory of it was that it was a very funny film.

However, when I got older and watched it again, I didn't like it. It's slow, the pace of the film plodding along dully, and it just isn't funny.

There are some very strong themes presented, with the ideas of what women have to endure with stereotypes and it's fun to see a man have to learn what those are and gain a respect for women because of it. But in the end, the character that Dustin Hoffman plays (who is playing Dorothy), ends up still catering to those old school notions, chasing after Jessica Lange in a stereotypical fashion.

It was a good idea, but it ultimately becomes hypocritical in its delivery.
