SEE THE NASTY PARASITE - NIBBLE NIBBLE NIBBLE
PARASITE is pure Sci-Fi/Horror garbage.
With utterly terrible performances all-round (including that of DEMI MOORE, in her first starring role), this flick belongs in the trash-can along with all the rest of the crap that gets churned out from this particular genre, ad nauseum. It's true. I really couldn't put it any plainer than that.
In this 'bottom-of-the-barrel' fiasco flick - If there had been a little less of the 'Let's-Kick-Someone's-Ass' nonsense, and a lot more 'Parasite-Biting-People' stuff, then maybe, just maybe, this dreary, little, low-budget mess might have been, at least, considered passable as entertainment.
I don't know what else to say about this rubbish flick, except to mention that it was filmed in 1982, but its story was set in the future by only 10 stupid years.
Apparently, an atomic bomb had been dropped some years earlier on the US West Coast. Naturally, this left very few survivors. Los Angeles was deserted, but for a handful of people who were living like scavengers on the outskirts of the city. And, this is the area used as the location for this flick's story.
As for the parasite - It was the result of (guess what?) genetic experimentation gone-straight-to-hell.
There was really only one goddamn parasite. It looked like a slug with a mouthful of razor-sharp teeth. It had started out at tadpole size, but quickly reached about 3 feet in length. And, it sure liked to feed off of humans.
Nibble. Nibble. Nibble.
What the hell more can I say?
