Maybe in an alternate universe...
Marc Singer would have been as popular as Harrison Ford. Or even bigger. They both have movie star good looks are brilliant actors. So, how did Harrison Ford become a household name and Marc Singer only has about a dozen fans?
Marc starred in the V mini-series and Television series(1983-1985). And he is also going to star in the "soon" to be released V movie.
Harrison had the Indiana Jones movies(1981-1989). And a new Indy movie is being filmed right now. A television series based on the adventures of young Indiana Jones produced twelve episodes. One episode even featured Harrison Ford.
Marc starred in the Beastmaster trilogy(1982-1996). Almost twenty years after the release of the first movie a syndicated television program was created. The series lasted for three seasons. Marc had a small recurring role in the series.
Harrison only had a minor role in the first three Star Wars films(1977-1883). Twenty two years after the original movies release, the film makers decided to make three new movies. The writers thought that a television series would have allowed them too much time for character development.
The only difference I can find between these two is that Harrison Ford wanted less people to see his work, so he chose to only appear in major motion pictures. Whereas Marc Singer didn't want to bother anyone so he decided to work mainly in television mini-series.
Bottom Line: At least Marc Singer can go out in public without being harassed.
