Movie Review by Ryan Midnight
November 25th, 2006

While two friends are backpacking in northern England, they are attacked by a werewolf. Jack is killed by the creature, but David survives. Soon after, David begins to have strong nightmares involving wolves, and it is then that Jack, who is now "undead" visits David and tells him he is a werewolf. David does not believe him, but when the next full moon circles around, he discovers just how right Jack was, and how deadly and dangerous he has become.

One of the earlier films to successfully combine horror and dark comedy, this movie has become a modern classic, and one of the more enduring and frightening werewolf tales. It has an incredible build up of suspense and character development, so that you truly care about what is happening to David, and the tragedy that must befall him. The transformation sequence is almost unbearable to watch, as David painfully turns into a wolf. Wait for the next full moon to watch this one, and remember to stay off the moors.

This film is responsible for the creation of the Acadamy Award for Best Makeup. 'Nuff said.
