Movie Review by Zara

The Forbidden Comedy

For some reason, this movie was always a hidden treat to me as a kid. Similar to PORKY'S in its outrageous nature, you felt like you were trying to get away with something bad when watching it.

As I grew into being an adult, a lot of that allure wore off. There are still scenes which crack me up (Belushi in particular is always a treat) but some of that golden hue wore away and left me with thinking that it might not be a good idea to hold this movie up as being some great monument in cinema history if it means we have to endure more VAN WILDER 2's.

Or perhaps it's just because I'm a chick and don't have that testosterone fueled sense of humour, I'm not sure. Either way, this is a decent but not mind blowing comedy that gets more credit than it deserves.

Hello Zara,
WOW..I keep forgetting about this movie! I was in high school when this came out so I was looking forward to going to college!
John Belushi was my favorite of the movie but he was that probably to everyone else also! I loved watching the late night show, Saturday Night Live! John's different sides were always takeing center stage to me!
Thank you for writing about this movie it will go down in history as a total classic!
Take care,Always! Bill
