Movie Review by Cheerleader Dan

The Citizen Kane of Cheerleading Movies

Favorite Movie Quote: ""Here we go again!""

I've loved this movie as long as I've loved cheerleading, I was thrilled to see it on matchflick so I'd have the opportunity to tell you all about how much I love it, which is lots.
The protagonist reporter starts off as an unlikable wench, convinced that cheerleader corrupts demeans and materializes women. She comes to learn the nature of the game, the nature of our lives, and of our bravest and most self sacrificing soldiers in the war on unspirtedness.
I also appreciate the directors use of symbolism throughout the movie in minute and discrete, but essential areas. If you look closely (but I won't reveal where, for searching is a joy) The director inserts Phallic idols to increase a certain sexual tension felt between the viewer and the cheerleaders. A true stroke of genius.
Jason Sommers as Professor Thorpe is truly inspiring as he leads this film to all the awards it should have won, but didn't due to the anti-cheer filibustering of Hollywood's sordid streets.
They gave their all for their team and I'd give this movie all the stars in the sky if I could.
