Barbarella (1968)

ZOWIE! JANE'S TOTALLY 'T.I.T'-ILLATING!
Hubba! Hubba! It's Barbarella. And, she's Psych-A-Della!
Pow-Zoom! Welcome to the 41st Century where all sorts of scintilating sex-citement abounds.
We are now travelling at light-speed through the Tau-Seti Solar System, so buckle up your seat belts, Space Cadets.
In a Cosmic-Nutshell - BARBARELLA is, basically, all focus on the '50 Fabulous Ways To Fornicate' in the far off, far-out future. If it's Blast-Off Time, you'll know where to find Barbarella.
Feast your eyes and watch in pure 'lust-filled' delight as The Great Tyrant nearly wears out our pretty, little, space-nymph Barbarella, with his great, big Organ-Of-Love. Shlurp! Shlurp!
Released in 1968 - Space-Beauty Barbarella, in her scant space-wardrobe, is probably the very first Super-Heroine, to my knowledge, to ever grace the silver screen. Not only did Barbarella have some fabulous curves and swerves to view, but she also packed a mighty mean, little ray-gun, too.
Interstellar Sex with Barbarella never looked this appetizing before. Yum-Yum!
At 30, the voluptuous JANE FONDA sure made for one ideal Barbarella 'Barbie-Doll'. She sure did. Grrrrrrrr! Like plastic? She's fantastic.
Who cared one bit that FONDA couldn't act worth a damn. (I didn't) It was all about looks here. Yeah. Looks were the only thing that mattered in BARBARELLA. And, believe me, JANE-Honey had plenty of that to go around, and some to spare as well. Va-Voom!
With BARBARELLA being nothing more than a Futuristic, R-Rated, Sex-Spoof - Plot expectations, pretty much, came down to 2 things - Shallowness and Predictability. All that was required of the plot, in a flick such as this, was to find any lame excuse possible to move the delectably enticing Barbarella around, from one hot'n'horny sexual encounter to another.
Interplanetary promiscuity, anyone? Sounds kinda fun, eh?
BARBARELLA was mainly just super 'soft-core' sexual situations. A number of Barbarella's sex-capades were actually quite entertaining. The rest were downright 'duh'. With mediocre special effects, to boot, BARBARELLA never had much of a chance. Its intended eroticism would never be elevated to anything even vaguely resembling that of 'Art'. Never.
OH, WELL!
BARBARELLA was originally a comic-strip Heroine regularly featured in V-Magazine ('V' is for Vagina) during the early 60's. BARBARELLA's creator was JEAN-CLAUDE FOREST.
USELESS MOVIE-TRIVIA - Does anyone care that the no-talent, 80's Pop-Group - DURAN DURAN - Ripped off their band's name from a character in BARBARELLA? I don't.
