I Spy With My Little Eye

As far as Sci-Fi, Horror films go...... The Man With The X-Ray Eyes is a surprisingly effective little 'Mad Scientist' flick from 1963.

This is the story about Dr. James Xavier who developes eyedrops intended to increase the range of human vision, allowing for one to see beyond the 'visible' spectrum into ultraviolet and x-ray wavelengths, and beyond. Without first testing his eyedrops on lab animals, Dr. Xavier anxiously begins using them on himself.

Initially, Xavier discovers that he can actually see through people's clothing. But over time, and with continued use of the drops, Xavier's visual capacity rapidly increases while his ability to control it decreases. Eventually he must wear special-lensed, shielding glasses for he can no longer see the world in human terms, but only in forms of light and textures that his brain is unable to fully comprehend.

Xavier's eyes are altered along with his vision - First they become silver, and then they turn completely black. Xavier's behaviour also becomes increasingly erratic. He appears to be slowly going insane.

All-in-All..... The Man With The X-Ray Eyes is freaky, Sci-Fi fun.

At the First International Festival of Science Fiction Films this flick won the Best Film Award for 1963.
