The Terror (1963)

An early Nicholson
I was hoping to see one of Jack Nicholsen's first movies. This was his 7th. The other star, Boris Karloff, was an old hand, having appeared on film some 170+ times by the time he starred in this movie. It was produced and directed by Roger Corman, who has almost 400 films to his credit.
Considering it was an early Nicholson, he did surprisingly well and you could see his ability even at this stage. The rest of the cast was good, as well: Sandra Knight as the ghost, Dick Miller, who just complete Trail of the Screaming Forehead (sounds like a goodie), and Dorothy Neumann as the old witch.
Neat ending.
The only thing I questioned was the gun that Nicholson was carrying. I am no expert, but a short barrel revolver at the dawn of the 19th Century seems out of place.
