Sinatra and MacLaine play French
Oh man, how painful to watch Sinatra pretend to be French, but also...how awesome?
Shirley MacLaine plays the owner of a saloon that specializes in the Can Can, despite it being illegal. Sinatra plays her boyfriend, a shady lawyer who is cheating on her. She quickly falls for a judge (Louis Jourdan, as sexy as he ever was) who is trying to arrest her and chaos ensues as you can imagine.
The best and worst parts of this film are the dancing. The abusive love story dance MacLaine does with various male dancers is hilarious and awesome, but the final adam and eve jazzed out dance is pretty lame.
If you aren't big on Sinatra or MacLaine, don't bother, if you love 'em you get to hear them to a duet of 'Let's Fall in Love', so that might be worth it for you.
Personally, Sinatra makes me melt no matter what the role.
