THE IDLE FRONTIER GUN

Soft-spoken, easy-going Jim Crayle offers his services as a voluntary Marshal in the small town of Sagebrush, Nebraska. Crazed gunman, Yubo, arrives in town in a blaze of gunfire and starts a reign of bloody terror amongst the timid citizens.

Due to an old wrist injury, Crayle is unable to outdraw Yubo and so the ruckus in town continues. Because the citizens of Sagebrush don't understand Crayle's situation they label him yellow and demand he resign his position as Marshal.

It's only when the mean-mouthed Yubo gets into a down'n'dirty arguement with Crayle that the quiet Marshal finally rises to the occasion and kicks Yubo's big, ornery ass right out of town and straight up into Boot Hill.

FRONTIER GUN is a fairly solid, and entertaining Western from 1958, but JOHN AGAR's lazy, somewhat limp portrayal of Marshal Crayle goes against the hard drivin' grain of the story and slows the action right down at times to a near snail's pace.
