Brigadoon (1954)

Gulp
There is nothing quite like seeing Cyd Charisse dance. She is long and lean with the most incredible set of gams in screen history. Like a modern dance ballerina, she commands those around her with her movement.
There is nothing quite like seeing Gene Kelly dance. Strong and muscular, he redefines what a dance man should look like. He is powerful and magnetic, a leading man in dance shoes.
However these two were not right together, each has a formidable presence on their own, but when they dance together it seems like they are fighting for your eye, confusing the viewer.
It doesn't help that this is a pretty bad musical to begin with. Not even the great Vincente Minnelli can save it.
Dull.
