Nothing original.
Sad to say there is nothing to see here.
The movie The Matrix has spawned tons of movies with its influence, looking at Surrogates it reminded me of Blade Runner and The Matrix. The only interesting thing that I found interesting in the entire movie was the notion that, perhaps one day we will all have a surrogate to do our jobs, while we sit at home plugged in and sit back and enjoy the show.
I was the only person in the movie theater, only when the movie was about to end did 2 older people enter the theater by mistake, and then they quickly left. Bruce Willis looked ridiculous with his bright white teeth and there was nothing that I liked about the movie, not the look, the concept, the movie, the idea, the writing, nothing, there was nothing in this movie that I found interesting, everything was predictable the longer that the movie went on. I say rent this movie and you be the judge.
As a writer and a moviegoer, I am still trying to figure out how you can see dailies of your film, and you and the powers that be--think that everything looks well and people will go and see the film. I now see why the movie bombed, it was not original, although I thought the trailer was terrific and it made me want to see the movie. Surrogates.
