Movie Review by Movie Addict
September 26th, 2009

Favorite Movie Quote: "God is a comedian playing to an audience too afraid to laugh."

There isn't a minute of this film that isn't witty or charming or just plain funny. Kristen Scott Thomas may not have won a Best Supporting Actress award for her performance as the matriarch, but I am sure she is perfectly happy with her Best Actress award for Il y a longtemps que je t'aime, an amazing film, if you haven't seen it.

Jessica Biel is perfectly delightful as an American who marries into a staid British family on the whim of the son, played by Ben Barnes, who some, certainly not I, have seen as Prince Caspian. Colin Firth played the husband of Scott Thomas, and was perfectly charming as somewhat of an outsider.

When a scandal arose from the past, the world came tumbling down and everyone was forced to face their demons. It was brilliant.

To see the flashy American try to fit in with the old school British was hilarious and a film that I recommend highly to all who enjoy intelligent comedy.
