I realy dont know what to make of this one. As a horror movie, it is in no way scarey, at least not to me. But as a comedy, as me and the people i went to see it with eventually took it, its hilareous! I dont think it was ment to be as funny as we were finding it though.
I've never seen the "evil dead" movies all the way through (Not cause i'm to scared before you think that. I tried to watch one on the tv late one night but fell asleep) but guess this is some sort of return to them for Sam Raimi. I would of thought this would be a disapointment to the fans though as my friends assured me its no where near as shocking and gruesome, and as someone who likes genuinly creepy horror movies i was less than thrilled.
There are SOME scarery moments, like the old hag that features jumping out of nowhere and making a little bit of pee come out. But there are also rediculasly laughable jumps, where a napkin or something blows into shot out of nowhere. The film is mostly relying on shock tactics which there are some of too. But these just made me turn my face up at it rather than enjoy it.
If you see the funny side you might not feel like you've waisted your money seing this, and on another plus point the plot is actually pretty good (or at least after a couple of stupid twists theres one good one) lets just say Spiderman doesnt come along and save the day at the end.
