Movie Review by Zara
June 3rd, 2009

Not nearly as bad of a movie as I was expecting, after previewing the nudity scene that Jessica Biel did to stir up a bunch of attention for this movie and then have it end up as a direct-to-DVD release.

Is it depressing? Sure. But not even as much as CLOSER, a movie I would liken it to, with characters going through personal moral debates, colliding at different times to make certain aspects of their lives become clearer.

The movie is wonderfully filmed in terms of art direction. It is sunny when it needs to be and gritty and grimy in all of the right ugly places, however as depressing as the story goes and as much as the look of the film conveys its emotions, it never really gets too in depth with any of its characters, merely skimming their surface, which does it a major disservice.

This could have been a lot worse, in my opinion. But it also could have been a lot better, one of those beautiful disaster types of things. Alas, it fell into the ugly pit right in the middle.
