This film was a winner before i'd even seen it to be honest. Since i've loved most of the stuff starring Paul Rudd and Jason Segal thus far (with the exception of that sh*t "Halloween" movie i seen Rudd in years ago. Blechhh!!). Although i'm surprised its not somehow made by Judd Apatow, who both the main players ushually work for in films with exactly the same ingrediants. At first i was a bit wary because of the opening 10 minutes or so, but soon the film comes to life and is jam packed with the usual crude moments, nicey nice moments and quotable lines you'd expect.
The plot is pretty straight forward but not to predictable as it could go down a few different directions before the end. Rudd has come a long way since "friends" and carrys the film well, at least until Segal turns up, who realy is the star of the show, bringing it out of the romcom territery it could of headed in. He was good in "forgetting Sarah Marshall" but gets a better chance to shine here. Rudd as well puts in one of his better funny performances and if getting less laughs, gets the bigger laughs in a film that is way better than his other recent comedy "Role models." Whats great about Judd Apatows movies is that the secondery characters are just as good and get laughs, which is here too. Out of the secondary players here, Jon Favreau shines as a total jerk Rudd tries to be pals with.
