Movie Review by Zara

I like to shoot my mouth off, so I can get behind Larry Flynt. I think he's a pioneer and not a nutjob like so many people would like to paint him out to be. Is he a purveyor of porn? Absolutely. And there's nothing wrong with that. The main problem with the argument over what is or isn't indecent comes down to which side people prefer to have their bread buttered on.

I'm not going to knock someone for wanting missionary sex once a year if that's what gets them off. If you like looking at big fake knockers, okey dokey. That's your right. And Flynt has been fighting for the first amendment right in America for longer than most people. He's gone to prison, been shot and paralyzed and been mocked by people who eventually come to his side and agree with him. (Jerry Fallwell, the priest/minister/whatever who lost the landmark case against him became his friend and debated him at conventions around the nation. Even the guy who shot him, a man who was a serial killer, admitted that the only shooting he felt guilty about was shooting Flynt.)

I like to be able to say whatever sh*t pops into my head. I don't want anyone trying to tell me that I can't. And understand that my mocking whatever sh*t comes out of your mouth is my right as much as it is yours for saying what you wanted to say. No one is in the wrong and everyone should be protected, regardless of this bullsh*t soccer-mom f*cking society that we live in today which is more concerned with people's "feelings" than actual fair and equal justice.

My main complaint with the documentary is that while smart, witty, charming and informative, it's toned down to not show anything too "dirty" (there's only one scene of boobs and no penis is shown) and it's too short at only 74 minutes long.
