There is a reason this movie has never been remade, it was done perfect the first time. That, and I don't think there is anyone today that is willing to attempt to fill Gene Kelly's or Donald O'Connor's shoes.
This movie was written around the songs, and it shows. The music and dance numbers are captivating. I believe that my love for tap stems from this movie. I fell in love with Gene when I was a little girl, and I'm not sure that I have ever gotten over my crush.
I was totally excited when this movie was restored and rereleased with tons of bonus features. I am a huge fan of behind the scenes, especially when it is from classics. I loved seeing the original movies that the songs were from. There is even a scene of a woman doing a tap dance on point, amazing.
To any fan of movies and classics, this is a must see.
