We don't have to go over the awards this film has won. it was arguably THE best film of 2008.
Can you imagine someone like Charles Van Doren being hung up in a cell and given electrical jolts because he knew the answers? Just because a slumdog exceeded expectations, he must be cheating.
Seeing how Jamal's (Dev Patel) life in the Muslim slums (with religious hatred, child abusers, unconcerned police, and grinding poverty a fact of everyday life) shaped his knowledge was fascinating.
Having his own brother Salim (Madhur Mittal) do what he did was heartbreaking.
His love for Latika (Freida Pinto) drove him like an obsessed fool - a fool in love.
The ultimate movie about luck in life, and going for your dreams.
