Movie Review by Jessica Film Junkie
March 16th, 2009

A Moment in Time

Favorite Movie Quote: "It is written"

I recently asked my 8th grade students to present their opinion of the greatest film of all time and interestingly 4 different groups picked this film. Perhaps it was the Oscars, perhaps the pu**ycat Dolls cover of 'Jai Ho', or perhaps it is something more, a moment in time when a movie about a grim reality with light at the end of the tunnel can affect the world.

This is a gripping, stunning and moving film about one boy's struggles growing up in the slums of Mumbai. The performances, adult and child alike, are authentic, the cinematography is lovely and the music is enlightening. I loved this film from start to finish and I believe it will live on as a film that changed the perception of Oscar films and important films for years to come.
