Liev Schreiber stole it!

Favorite Movie Quote: "How come it's so f*cking hard to like Jews?"

I normally like period piece films like this. I normally like any film that has to do with the Holocaust. I liked Defiance but something kept me from liking it to the degree that I should have and I am still trying to figure out what that was.

Daniel Craig I guess would be considered the star of this film however Liev Schreiber stole the film. Liev Schreiber is another one of those actors that has really put his time into the acting game and has accomplished tremendous things but still has yet to find his way to A-list status or as the leading man in any major film production.

I think my main problem was that I became bored with the film. It became sort of repetitive...you know something along the lines of "we are going to build a camp" ok now the Germans found us so we shoot at them a little and then go deeper into the forest and build another camp... with just a few little love stories thrown in between. It was somewhat predictable that the two brothers who had a huge falling out would somehow reconnect at the end and they did.

I am not sorry that I watched it nor am I disappointed I just think that I would never watch it again and will probably remain confused at how this film was so close to being so much better but even me as an avid film watcher cant figure out what should have been done differently.

Seriously? It's a true story. They're telling the true story of the Bielski brothers. I'm sorry the Holocaust was too "repetitive" for you. Tuvia Bielski is my great/great great uncle. LIFE is predictable. That was his life. He saved more than a thousand jews who would've otherwise been murdered. Maybe it doesn't make a great movie. But it's a great story. About a great man with great faith.

Thanks for the comment. Yes seriously.... this film bored me...MatchFlick is a movie site so you review the MOVIE not the story....if it was a history site then I could see your point. The movie was repetitive and just because your related to Bielski really shouldnt make you love the film.
