Movie Review by Krissy
March 29th, 2009

I originally rented this movie because of the content. I believe that being gay is wrong in the eyes of God but people are still people and deserve to be understood. One thing though that most people tend to forget when they start talking fire and damnation to gay people is that God says to love. This movie for me really pushed this point across. Are people born gay? I don't know. Is being gay a choice?...again, I don't know. Are we to love our neighbors as we love ourselves? Absolutely. Is this what happend to these people in 1978? Not even close.

There were some very good points made in this movie; and more than a few times those speaking on the part of non gays showed their ignorance and plain stupidity. Milk is a great movie and deserves a watch...just keep you mind open to heart and message of the movie.

Even though you believe that "being gay is wrong in the eyes of God," you bring up the important argument that what is wrong or right isn't for anyone to decide but for themselves personally. And what I believe the movie tries to highlight is that everyone, no matter what their personal distinction (based on choice of religion, what color to dye their hair or which job they want to pursue), has the right to to equal consideration. As humans, we don't start any part of our lives on uneven ground. We all come from the same jumping point.

Exactly. What got me most about this movie is that those that were shouting the word of God were doing it in such a hateful and demeaning manner that the point of what they were saying was over looked because what they were doing was just as wrong. Sin is sin no matter how you look at it. Killing someone who is gay doesn't make you a better believer in the eyes of God, it just makes you a murder. This movie I think shows that.
