Movie Review by Denise
December 24th, 2008

Anne Hathaway was Great, but it wasn't enough . .

Two words to describe this movie: Emotional pornography.
One word for Jonathan Demme: edit.

This movie felt like being at a friend's house when the family has ugly arguments and you can't easily escape. Like you're clearly hearing things that are None of Your Business. If wanting the audience to hide into their chairs and wish for invisibility was Demme's intent, he succeeded.

And really, I didn't pay attention to all the toasts and all the music at my OWN wedding-- why would I want to hear all that (with very few cuts!) at some fictional Rachel's wedding?

Having said all that, Hathaway was incredible and she should be nominated for an Oscar. I'm just saying.
